Hope Central was a little bit challenging this week as three of our team members were not able to be there (please pray for protection) and we had arranged for some people to come from another church based in Harrow who we connected with through “Unleashed” who also have a heart for the 18-30 and wanted see how we do things. We also found ourselves without a laptop, well not quite we had my laptop but when I have tried to use it in the past it does not want to connect to the prorector. As it happened, we had some friends staying with us, one of which is a bit of an expert on computers. He heard our plight and suggest he could come help so off to the Hope Centre we went, he plugged in my laptop and connected it to the projector, I popped out of the room to for a moment and when I returned it was working, I said what was wrong, he said nothing I just turned it on! Glory to God!
We had worship and testimonies as normal and some of the community stepped out in boldness to share, as they were very nervous. We felt very proud of them.
We spoke on Cain and Abel this week emphasising Gods love for Cain, and we also considered how our thought process and attitudes can affect ourselves and others.
We had a prophetic word about being torn down and how God wants to build them up, which tied up with a poem we shared that Mandy had written and was open on that page at the start of the meeting. Also, a word about someone who feels they had no voice and were never heard, this all lead into a powerful prayer time at the end were many received prayer and tears were flowing, as the Holy Spirit was at work.
The visitors from Harrow loved Hope Central and how we do things and they would love to bring more people down from their church to visit, they were very inspired and touched by the openness of those at Hope Central and their love for Jesus.
This week’s scripture from a member of Taste and See Hebrews 4:14-16
Jesus the Great High Priest
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
