We gathered as normal with around sixteen in total. As usual we shared our Testimonies and Tests which is always a beautiful time of honesty and vulnerability. This was followed by a time of worship.
We then handed over to Regina and Caty, who have both had amazing revelations from God about their identity in different ways. God has spoken to them both about their names and how this links to their identity. As they share this together it inspired them to prepare a three-part series for Hope Central.
The series kicked off with testimony from both Caty and Regina’s on their identity before they met Jesus. The impact their views about themselves and views from other people had on them. We learnt that a person’s identity can be formed on internal factors, external factors, things we do and give worth to. After sharing testimonies, there was a reflective time for the people of Hope Central to consider where they might be getting their identity from, or what might be influencing it. Caty then began to share a testimony of one of the most impactful stories of her identity journey and how as she attended a School of Ministry, she had to face the truth about what she saw herself as. For Caty, this was wholly negative. Never enough, unlovable, inadequate, the list of negativities could go on. She was asked to pray during this time of a label she had wrongly given herself. That label was ‘Unlovable’. She had this label then attached to her with duct tape as a symbol of what was going on within. There was then a time of acknowledging the pain of this and the root, and a time of ministry for God to remove this label far away from her. Caty shared the great joy she had in ripping off this label, screwing it up, stamping on it and throwing it away. Then was the time for restoration. Caty prayed and asked God how he sees her, and they wrote a new more permanent label of the truth. This label for Caty was ‘Loved, honoured and chosen’. The point of sharing this testimony was that hopefully people would want to acknowledge the labels they have and replace them with the amazing ones God gives to us.
This is exactly what happened. Everyone chose the label they wanted to remove from their lives, prayed together and got rid of that stuff for good! We then all prayed and asked God for our own personal labels from him, what He says over us and attached his labels to us instead.
God is so faithful and had the most beautiful things to say over his children at Hope Central. It is our prayer that the young adults begin to walk in this identity which God has given them.
This started to happen as some members of Hope Central shared openly what God had revealed to them when they asked them about their true identity and the new label’s they were now wearing
Thank you, Jesus, for another great night, You will build Your church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it…
Thank you Taste & See for your continuing prayer support it is vital
A Scripture from a member of Taste & See – Hebrews 11:1-6
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.
By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.” For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him
Can you hear those dry bones RATLING….
