Disciples to Apostles 22/5/24

We gathered as normal with around Twelve in total. As always, we shared our Testimonies and Tests which as always is a beautiful time of honesty and vulnerability.

We lead from a devotional on being stuck

We then moved into a time of worship. During worship there were two prophetic words, the first being: Psalm 40 – ‘I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him. Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD’. There was a sense of some people being stuck in the mire up to their wast & others with just their feet in the mud but whatever the situation we are in when we call out, our Heavenly Father He turns and leans towards us to hear our cry’s, He is personally present for the ‘one’ in a billion people. He will take action; He will lift you up out of your situation and give you a firm to stand in Christ Jesus and a new testimony of His goodness.

The second word tied in with the first – A picture of a specific bird that get their feet stuck in frozen waters and have to wait until the sun comes out and melts the ice so they can then move, felt the Lord say that some of us in the community may be stuck in a certain area of life but as they wait on the Lord her will release them from it in his timing.

Both tying into the devotional shared at the beginning, don’t you just love that when Father God does that..!

We then moved on to the talk which was about how Jesus chose, trained and released His disciples both before & after His great sacrifice on the cross.  How significant the day of Pentecost when they received the Holy Spirit completing their journey from disciples to apostles. We then challenged them by showing them how they were being discipled and that they too could be apostles (teacher / pioneer) by using a simple method call “Discovery Bible Study” with family, friends or colleagues.

We then organised them into small groups and they all carried out their first DBS.

It went really well and we had some great feedback and it was agreed that we do it again soon.

Thank you Jesus for another great night, You will build Your church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it…

Thank you Taste & See for your continuing prayer support it is vital

A Scripture from a member of Taste & See

This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance. That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.

Command and teach these things. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

Can you hear those dry bones RATLING….
