Preparing For The New Year 17/01/24

Hey it’s good to be back.

We finished off 2023 with a Games Night and started 2024 with a Social at Nando’s both were well attended and we are so encouraged to see friendships developing as our community grows

This week we were so pleased to see a good number return from their Christmas Break and there was a sense of excitement for what Jesus has planned for Hope Central this year.

During worship we were reminded with a prophetic word that Jesus is King and that we are His Children and as so we are royalty but Jesus was grieved that some of us are still living like spiritual paupers and He wanted to reaffirm us by giving us a Diadem. Which is a type of crown worn as a badge of royalty.

This week Hannah spoke about preparing for a new year by spending time with God to listen to what he is saying over you for the new year and about handing over our hopes, intentions and wishes. We looked at the way Jesus called us to live in reference to the following bible verses:

Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken Psa 55 :22

Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.  If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.  If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you John 15:5-7

Hannah shared about how it’s not always easy to hand our hopes, dreams or worries over to God and we may find ourselves picking them back up and have to lay them back down again but, ultimately, Proverbs 16:9 tells us that although we may plan the way we want to go, it is God that makes us able to live it so leaving our hopes with God is the safest and easiest thing to do.

We then spent some time reflecting and asking the Holy Spirit to guide us as we wrote down our Hopes, Dreams and Intentions for 2024.

As always, we finished with a people socializing and receiving prayer.

Scripture from a member of Taste & See

Psalm 103:17    But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children
