A man named Jesus died on the cross for me,
He went through all that suffering so me and you could be set free,
Nailed to a cross, Humiliated, His blood being shed,
People shouting from the crowd, abusive words being said,
You hung there limp taking the pain, for you knew we would suffer too,
In a world full of sin that would separate us from you,
We need to comprehend why you went through so much pain,
It was to take on all our sins, so in life we could gain,
To gain access to our Father, our loving living King,
Who loves us so much , which is why Jesus he did bring,
Brought to this earth to live here as man,
Going through things that we would, to know he understands ,

Then our Heavenly Father done something so brave,
His only son Jesus he sent to the grave,
He allowed him to be wrongly accused, tortured and nailed to a cross,
So us whom he loves can be rescued and redeemed, and no longer lost,
You see Jesus knew what he had to do,
To die on that cross for me and for you,
He knew in this world we would have trouble and strife,
But he also knew if we believed in him, we would have eternal life,
So thank you Jesus for staying on that path,
Even though you knew you was heading into wrath,
I thank you Jesus my Saviour, my friend,
For all that you did for us in your life til the end,

So let us remember your love for us today,
And be here with thankful hearts on this Good Friday ,
Knowing that you have brought the enemy down ,
We can remember who we are in you and wear the victors crown,
So scripture fullfilled your work was done,
You paid the price for us and victory was won.
